About CELLS alive!

From 1994 through 2023

Back when dial-up connections were the norm, CELLS alive! began as a way to share a few images of living cells. User input became a key impetus for making corrections and adding content. From the interactive cell model to the burping macrophage, providing CELLS alive! for 30 years was a pleasure and a privilege.  I treasure the kind words from those who found the site engaging, instructive, even quirky.

It is my hope that this shareable version will diminish the burden placed on teachers and students who have come to rely on CELLS alive!. You may give copies of the downloaded ZIP archive to others. I simply ask that sharing be done without profit. The online site was provided free of charge and it is my hope that original intention of making the information free to users be continued with this version.
